HRDQ Introduces New Leadership Self-Help Toolkit
KING OF PRUSSIA, PA (August 15, 2009) -- HRDQ, a leading developer of soft-skills training resources, today announced the release of the Responsive Leader Questionnaire and Capability Inventory, a new self-help resource for leaders. Based on a situational approach to leadership, the toolkit provides a practical framework for increasing leadership performance.
Author Dr. John Nicholls developed the Responsive Leader Questionnaire and Capability Inventory to offer managers a formalized approach to leadership that is easy for them to internalize and apply on a consistent basis. “If leaders always deal with their people sensitively and lead them in a way that responds to their individual capabilities, they increase the chance that they will respond by giving their best.” He adds, “Recognizing this truth, effective leaders are able to adjust their leadership behaviors to match each individual’s needs rather than using the same pattern or leadership style with everyone.”
The Responsive Leader Model is easy to apply and internalize, enabling both new and existing managers to adapt their leadership approach to best match an individual employee’s capability. “The concept of Responsive Leadership is easy to learn, simple to apply, and most importantly, it will stay with a leaders for the rest of their lives,” says Martin Delahoussaye, HRDQ Vice President of Publishing.
The Responsive Leader Questionnaire and Capability Inventory consists of assessments for leaders and their employees. Both measure a specific employee’s level of competence and commitment. Comparing the leader’s responses to the employee’s responses identifies gaps in perception and provides the opportunity for discussion, exploration, and then improvement.
In addition to the assessments, the toolkit also includes a comprehensive Interpretive Guide that provides managers with insight into the Responsive Leader Model, including detailed information about the four leadership styles. It also discusses the role that coaching and energizing play in helping a leader maximize employee performance, and includes helpful tips and techniques to assist the leader in improving these two core skills.
