The Importance of Training
 6/30/2009  by  HRDQ
Thinking of cutting your training budget? Think again. We surveyed 2,362 recent training participants about their previous experiences with assessments in corporate training programs. Overall, learners see great value in self-assessments. More than 80 percent of those surveyed said the assessment made them better at their job and has helped them in their career development. Some 89 percent said they looked at or used the feedback after the training; 76 percent said they discussed their feedback with coworkers; 66 percent discussed it with their family and friends outside of work. The opportunity for improvement is in follow-up: Only 55 percent said their organizations followed up on the topics taught in class.
