It's natural for managers to become equally stressed as employees by the rigors of change. Most do not have the time or the skills necessary to anticipate all of their employees' emotional and professional needs. This leads to employees feeling resentful, confused, fearful, or resistant – and a manager's change effort may stall as a result.

Dealing with Change is effective when used as a stand-alone resource or as part of a larger change management training program. This business simulation focuses on a personal and proactive approach to manage the emotional side of change. Employees will enjoy discovering how to regain a sense of control and how to turn their negative emotions into positive actions.

How It Works

Using an introductory scenario, participants imagine they are amid a frustrating and challenging change initiative. They then rank a list of 12 action items that will help them to participate positively in the change effort. Participants then compare their scores to the expert ranking and discover how well they are managing change. Finally, an easy-to-follow five-step plan shows employees how to apply their learning to their job.

The Dealing with Change Five-Step Plan:

  1. Voice your concerns
  2. Ask questions
  3. Take the plunge
  4. Visualize the future
  5. Keep learning
