What's My Leadership Style? starts with a leadership style assessment in which individuals are given 20 pairs of actions relating to leadership behavior. With a limit of 5 points, assessment-takers distribute points between the two actions in each pair - indicating the degree to which they prefer either action when acting as a leader. The result of scoring the assessment is the identification of one's preferred leadership style: Direct, Spirited, Considerate, or Systematic. Completing the assessment requires approximately 10 minutes.

After the leadership style assessment has been scored, we recommend you allow approximately 1 hour for interpretation of scores, topic discussion, debrief, and action planning. The Facilitator Guide also offers an easy-to-follow workshop outline that expands What's My Leadership Style into a 2-hour program.

You will need to order 1 Facilitator Guide per trainer and either 1 Print Participant Guide or 1 Online Assessment for each individual learner.

The Online Version is an excellent choice for enterprise-wide training or audiences that are geographically dispersed. It offers 24/7 access, streamlined distribution, and instant scoring. It's also a great way to reduce paper use in your training.

The Print Version is ideal for facilitators who prefer to oversee scoring and administration of the assessment, who don't know who the participants will be before the class begins, or whose learners do not have easy access to computers. It includes pressure-sensitive forms for scoring to aid manual tabulation.

Mary Blitzer Field, MA is a former Senior Developer at HRDQ. While at HRDQ Mary developed or co-developed several products including What's My Leadership Style?, What's My Time Style?, and Mentoring in the Moment.

Before joining HRDQ, Mary was involved in marketing, developing, and presenting corporate training seminars in communication skills such as scientific writing, business writing, and presentations. She has worked with a broad range of industries, with specialties in pharmaceuticals, chemical, health care, entertainment, and manufacturing. Her corporate training experience also includes the development of seminar manuals, visuals, and job aids.

She has gone on to provide professional training and development services at the University of Pennsylvania Medical School and, currently, the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

Mary holds an MA in English Language and Literature from Columbia University and her teaching experience includes writing instruction at several renowned universities including Columbia and Northeastern.
